These terms apply to all quotes, bookings and work carried out by Watford Haulage Service Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”, “Watford Haulage”).
1. About us

2. Quotes
Quotes are estimates based on the information you provide. They become binding only on written confirmation from us (by email or text). We may revise a quote if conditions on site differ materially from those described, including but not limited to:
- Access difficulty beyond what was disclosed
- Load weight greater than quoted
- Additional time on site
- Reach or lift capacity requirements that exceed the original brief
3. Booking and acceptance
A booking is confirmed when we send a written confirmation acknowledging the date, time and price. We may decline any booking at our discretion.
4. Your obligations
You agree to:
- Provide safe and lawful access to the pickup and drop-off points
- Disclose any known site hazards, ground conditions, height restrictions, weight restrictions and overhead obstructions (including overhead power lines)
- Hold any permissions, permits or third-party consents required for the job, including parking suspensions or road closures where relevant
- Confirm the load weight is within the limits we have quoted for
- Be available, or have an authorised representative available, at pickup and drop-off
5. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the job unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept bank transfer. Invoices not paid by the due date may attract interest at 8% over the Bank of England base rate, plus reasonable collection costs, under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel a booked job up to 24 hours before the agreed start time with no charge. Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged at 50% of the quoted price. Cancellations made after the truck has been dispatched will be charged in full.
7. Liability and insurance
We carry goods-in-transit insurance, public liability insurance and motor cover. Liability for damage caused by us is limited to the cover provided by those policies. We are not liable for:
- Loss caused by your failure to disclose accurate site or load information
- Indirect or consequential losses, including project delays, lost profits, or third-party penalties
- Force majeure events, including extreme weather, road closures, traffic incidents and industrial action
- Damage to property that was not reasonably foreseeable given the access conditions and information provided
If you have a claim, notify us in writing within 7 days of the event.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
9. Complaints
If something goes wrong, call 07932 870006. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 14 working days.
