Soft ground. Narrow lanes. Tight yards. No loading bay. If the standard wagon can’t, the Hiab usually can.
Restricted access is the job the Hiab was built for. Where a standard wagon stops, the Hiab keeps going — over the obstacle, down the lane, onto the soft ground, into the corner of the yard.
What counts as restricted access
- Narrow lanes or streets that a standard wagon can’t navigate or park in
- Soft ground — gravel, mud, unfinished drives, wet clay
- No loading bay — no designated unloading area, or one that’s blocked
- Tight yards with no turning space
- Overhead obstacles — low cables, tree branches, overhanging buildings
- Steep gradients that a standard wagon can’t stop on safely
- Locked or gated access where the gate is narrower than the wagon
- Congested streets with restricted parking and tight turning
How the Hiab handles it
Narrow lanes. The Hiab parks where it can and reaches over. The load is placed from a distance, not driven to the door.
Soft ground. The outriggers spread the load and stabilise the vehicle. We don’t need hard standing to lift safely.
No loading bay. The crane reaches over walls, fences, hedges and parked cars to place the load where it needs to go.
Tight yards. The crane places the load in the corner you want, not in the entrance where a standard wagon would have to dump it.
Steep gradients. The outriggers stabilise the vehicle on slopes, and the crane places the load without needing the wagon to be level.
Overhead obstacles. We assess the height and the angle before lifting. If the load can be placed without hitting anything, we’ll do it.
Typical restricted-access jobs
- Hot tubs into gardens with no vehicle access
- Materials placed over walls into tight yards
- Plant moved to sites on soft ground
- Pallets delivered to homes on narrow streets
- Containers placed behind buildings with no rear access
- Deliveries to rural properties on single-track lanes
What we need to know
- Pickup address and postcode
- Drop-off address and postcode
- What’s being moved — dimensions and weight if known
- A description of the access — narrow lane, soft ground, tight yard, no loading bay
- Where the load needs to land
- Any specific restrictions — overhead cables, weight limits, time windows
Send us the details and we’ll confirm in the quote whether the lift is feasible, and if there are any access caveats.
