When you submit a quote request through our website, we collect:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Email address (if provided)
- Pickup and drop-off locations
- Details of the load to be moved and approximate weight
- Preferred timing and any access notes
- The date and time of the submission
- Your IP address and browser type, for spam prevention
We do not use third-party tracking pixels or marketing analytics.
Why we collect it
We use the information you provide to:
- Prepare a quote
- Schedule and complete the work if you accept the quote
- Send you an invoice and receipt
- Contact you about the job
- Keep tax and accounting records as required by HMRC
Lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of “legitimate interest” (responding to your enquiry) and, once a job is booked, “performance of a contract” (carrying out the work). Tax record retention is on the basis of “legal obligation”.
How long we keep it
Quote request records that do not lead to a booked job are kept for 12 months. Records of completed jobs (including invoices and receipts) are kept for 6 years to comply with HMRC requirements, after which they are deleted.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. We may share data with:
- HMRC, where required by tax law
- Our accountant, to prepare statutory returns
- Insurers, in the event of an insurance claim arising from a job
- Law enforcement, where required by court order or similar legal process
Cookies
This site uses one functional cookie (wh_cookie_dismissed) that records whether you have dismissed our cookie notice. It expires after 12 months. It is not used for tracking, advertising or analytics.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or social media cookies. If that changes in future, this policy will be updated and the cookie notice on the site will be updated accordingly.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
