Why building materials need a Hiab
Most building materials arrive on pallets or in bulk bags. They’re heavy, awkward and almost always need placing somewhere a wagon can’t reach: a back garden, a side path, a tight driveway, a rear access point.
If there’s no forklift on site — and on most residential and small commercial jobs there isn’t — a standard wagon has no way to unload. The materials get left on the street, and the customer has to move them by hand or hire a forklift at short notice.
The Hiab avoids all of that.

How it works
- We collect from the merchant or supplier — no forklift needed at that end.
- The Hiab loads the pallet or bulk bag onto the flatbed.
- We drive to the delivery address.
- The Hiab lifts the load off the bed and places it exactly where you need it.
If it needs to go over a wall or fence, that’s routine. Up to 6ft is standard. Often more, depending on the load weight and the angle of approach.
What we need to know
- Pickup address and postcode (usually a merchant or yard)
- Drop-off address and postcode
- What’s being moved — product type, quantity, weight if known
- Where it needs to land — driveway, back garden, side path, specific spot
- Any access notes — fences to lift over, soft ground, narrow drives, restricted parking, time windows
